"If I eat a huge meal and I can get the girl to rub my belly, I think that’s about as romantic as I can think of."

The closest he’s come was an experience swimming with sharks in a pool at a water park. “When I got in, it was so dark you couldn’t really see, but they keep them well-fed and happy,” he says.
“Anyway, at a certain point they started getting pretty proactive, and then I looked up, and everyone was rushing out of the water.”
“I didn’t know what to do, but then I got close to this bridge, and this guy pulled me out,” he continues. “He was very apologetic to everyone and he said, ‘They usually don’t do this. They only do that if there’s the smell of urine. Did anyone pee?’”
Suddenly it’s horribly clear where this is going. And then he says it.
“I had peed.”
The Canadian star claims he finds it weird that he’s considered a sex symbol and believes it’s only because he’s in the movies that people would even consider him attractive. “I’m as uncomfortable with it as I am talking about it,” the Metro reported him saying. “I know from just being a guy and looking at a billboard and you’re like: ‘That guy’s not a sex symbol. They’re trying to sell that on us? No way! That’s never gonna stick.’ And then suddenly he’s like a huge deal and you can’t believe it. I used to hate on those guys and now I am one.”
Refn: Most fight scenes usually consist of stunt men or stand-ins fighting or you shoot it in a way where you can hide the illusion of punches and it’s more about sound. But I wanted to do everything in wide shots. You see everything in its full size, nothing is hidden. Ryan was green, blue, black, yellow all over his body afterwards. It was aching because he took some massive punches. He had to fall onto the cement floor, that’s a massive hit and he had to do that again and again and again.
Were there any insurance problems in beating up Ryan?
Refn: I don’t think we told the insurance company what we were doing.
